Clowning Around with Marta from Chit Chat Nails! (a twin post)

Hi guys!

Its been a while since my last post, but I'm back with a bang(!) twin posting with my hugely talented friend and blogger Marta from Chit Chat Nails.

It seems so long ago (and trust me it was a while ago... the shipping took a FO.EVA) that Marta asked if I was interested in joining her Lush Lacquer Clowning Around order... Of course I said YES! And we agreed on doing a twin post shortly after.

For my side of the twindum I decided on a fairly simple skittle mani using all pastels.

Zoya Blu, Finger Paints Paper Mache, and OPI Mod About You

I stamped with DRK-XL Plate A using Essie No Place Like Chrome. I just want to say that I LOVE that Essie shade for stamping!

I added the star of the show Lush Lacquer Clowning Around to two nails as an accent.

Clowning Around was very thick, and it's best to use dabbing style application of glitter. Plain old painting on Clowning Around will cause balding on your freshly coated nails, as well will leave a sparse smattering of glitter... Dabbing it on with the brush works so much better!

Thank you Marta for placing the order for this cool Lush Lacquer Polish!! Also Thanks for being my twin for the day :)!

And thank YOU for stopping by today.

Have a great day everyone!

Polish Days: Number 5

Wow, this months Polish Days came up really quick it seemed, and has a complete head scracher theme of Number 5. Yeah I struggled with this one, and I put it off until the night before.

My final mani was a quantity of 5 lady bugs (what!? its perfect for the weather we're having) per nail... and I DO have 5 nails... just in case anyone forgot that little tidbit LOL.

Of course I need to let you know, I was inspired by THIS adorable mani by The Polishwell

To create the above look I used Zoya Jacqueline, Sparitual Poppy, and Cult Nails Nevermore. The bugs were created using only my dotting tools, and took almost no extra time at all. I get a retro/ vintage 50s vibe from this mani, and I dig it! Wait! what did I just type?! FIFTIES... FIVE and a ZERO...OMG I totally killed this 5er challenge LMAO!

So there you have it: 5 nails, with 5 lady bugs, giving out a 50s vibe.

Don't forget to check out the other beautiful works of art!

Have a great day!

Essie Navigate Her with Glitter Gal Green Suede Shoes

Hello everyone!

Lately I haven't been in a nail art/stamping mood... I've been sporting fairly simple looks with very little embellishments, like this one with Essie Navigate Her and Glitter Gal Green Suede Shoes:

I've been removing Navigate Her and re-applying it right away... I'm kinda re-obsessed with this spring shade from last year. I actually think I bought it ahead of its time for me & my personal style, because I've worn it more times in the last few weeks then I have in the entire year I owned it.  Then again it is a spring type colour, which may explain why it's my newest Essie np crush.

Essie Navigate Her is a beautiful pale pea green with the slightest bit of dustiness to its colouring. Formula is good, and I think I used 2 coats.

Essie Navigate Her worn alone

Glitter Gal Green Suede Shoes is a sheer green holographic polish. I don't know how it is on its own, but it worked beautifully as a layering polish. Navigate Her & Green Suede Shoes worked well together as a layering combo because they share the same spot in the green area of the colour wheel.

If you recall waaaayyy back to September I went on a little blogger meet up, I picked up the Glitter Gal from Katie while we were swapping polish. (Psst! TY Katie!) :)

Oh yeah! I forgot to add happy Friday everyone! The weather is supposed to be super nice this weekend, and all I know is someone had better mix me a colourful drink in a fun glass with an umbrella on top. *happy sigh*I love weekend, don't you! :)

PS: I saw this article about blogging and writers block on Tanis Miller. She writes a family/lifestyle blog, and is super talented at writing. Here the LINK if you're interested. I found she painted a very accurate picture of what (I imagine) lots of other bloggers struggle with, and I wanted to share with my readers/fellow bloggers.

Article about Clothing Loves

A bit of a different style of post from me today. Just a lot of chatter about a store called Clothing Loves. I was recently contacted by and asked to write a short article about their shop for the chance to review some of their jewelry line. It sounded like a fair deal (if not a little unconventional, isn't it typically the other way around?) and I thought what do I have to lose...

So where was I? Oh right! is a wholesale retailer of inexpensive and fun dresses, wedding dresses and jeans. I browsed their site and liked what I saw, so I picked a few of my favourite items for this post:

Girly Bits Hulk Smash

Hello! Happy May!

Hows your day so far? Good I hope :) Is anyone else blown away by the fact that its May? ok good, because I can barely believe it my-self. To add to that, Canada's strange weather is not helping at. All. But its supposed to get to the plus 20s by the end of the week. Drinks on the patio anyone? :)

Two weeks ago I ordered a grab bag from Katie at Harlow & Co, I had ants in my pants waiting for my baggie to arrive (I basically love every polish she sells in her store!). When it got here on Friday I honestly tore right in! One of my new beauties was Girly Bits Hulk Smash (Squee!!!!).

Hulk Smash is a neon green jelly with shredded purple glitter shards. It also had a fine blue shimmer through out. This is one seriously cool shade with the perfect name to boot.

Sun Light:
See! I told you, pretty cool eh!

And now some bonus material... My son Matthew wanted his nails done, so we did all metallics and a bit of stamping!

Man I love kids!!:D

Happy hump day everyone!!!!
Karen xoxo
