Peach, Blue & Taupe Vintage Inspired

Hi Girls!

I'm back with another Pinterest inspiration. Today its THIS image, which is my Nails board cover image. Its currently my favourite manicure I have on that board. I've been loving this image for a while. Katy, from Life & Polish also used that pic for inspiration for THESE nails.

Here's my take:
I used the following:
Thumb & Ring: China Glaze Peachy Keen
Pointer: China Glaze For Audrey
Middle: Essie Lady Like

I love how these 3 shades play together.

Ever since I tried free hand roses on (from this post) I've been itching to do them again and again!

Thank you for stopping in, have a great Friday! :D

My First Fall Mani

Hey guys!

Sorry I'm posting this on Thursday, instead of Wednesday... but blame it on So You Think You Can Dance. I absolutely HAD to watch it, I also recorded it with the intention of re-watching over the weekend. Even though I already know who got voted off... (and the black hole of  despair left by Paul leaving hasn't healed yet) I just want to see their dances again. I still don't know why everyone loves Aaron so much... Hes obviously super good, but never seems that great to me. I`m now rooting for Fik-Shun for the boys, his solo was SO Good!. Also I`m happy with the girls and who went home, as I mentioned previously I really hope Jasmine wins.

So please tell me there are others who are watching this show with me!?

At work I asked a co-worker to provide me with nail art/manicure inspiration, and he suggested a fell theme look to start off the back to school season.

With that in mind, heres my first fall inspired mani:
Base: Sparitual Howl
Pinky: OPI A Woman's Prague-ative
Stamp: Essie Good as Gold & Essie Penny Talk
Plate: BM19

And that's it for my first fall mani if the season!

Thanks for popping in, and have a great day.

Yellow, White & Blue

Good Morning Chickas!

How was your weekend? Completely enjoyable I hope :) I know mine was: I met up with a good friend, Jon & my oldest son Matthew came home after a week long vacation (I missed them!), and my weekend ended with a BBQ at my aunts house, which Jon graciously took the kids so I could have a night "off". My 2 beautiful cousins also love nail polish, so it was great to chat about it with them... you know, without having ppl look at you like you have 3 heads! In fact one of them started her own np blog, feel free to check her out at Simply Stylish Nails.

The mani I'm showing today was meant to be Fridays post, but my camera died and by the time I charged it fully Friday had come and gone. Plus I could barely squeeze an extra second out of my weekend to post sooner.

Either way! Here is my yellow, blue & white mani:
To create the above look, I use China Glaze Lemon Fizz, OPI My Boy Friend Scales Walls, & China Glaze For Audrey. I stamped using BM20 & Cult Nails Nevermore. I currently have the whole Bundle Monster 2011 set with me, kindly on loan from my sister.

Isn't that image wonderful!?!? :) A definite new fave right there. I've been putting off getting a Bundle Monster set forever, and now I REALLY want one.

Well I'm off to browse BM plates now! I hope everyone has a great day. Thanks for stopping by!

Free Handed Roses

Hi guys!

As I'm typing this, I'm watching So You Think You Can Dance, anyone else obsessed? I think Jasmine is going to win for the girls. I'm torn on the boys, but if I had to guess, I'm hoping for Paul. I really love all the dancers left, this season has been good!

For my nails today, I finally tried something I've been seeing all over pinterest & blog posts, but never had the nerve to try until now. Here's my first attempt at free handed roses:
Zoya Neely is my base, once dry I painted over using my white striping polish. Next I grabbed my dotting tools and painted the leave using Essie Pretty Edgy. I painted the main rose with OPI Pink Friday using my largest dotting tool, and made an irregular shaped dot. I filled in the rest with my smallest dotting tool and OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips.

This is a look I will revert to again I'm sure. Its super easy to do once you sit down and try.

Tell me, have you tried free handed roses? I know there are some EXTREMELY talented bloggers whose flowers are untouchable(!!) namely Maria from Marias Nail Art Blog is one... I want to do nail art like her when I grow up!

Did you watch So You Think You Can Dance last night? Were you sad to see Tucker and Jenna to leave? I was meh, they are both super talented dancers, but I still wasn't totally sold on them. Like I said above, I'm cheering for Jasmine & Paul.

Have a great day!!

Zoya Neely Skittlette with Stripes & Hearts

Hi Guys!

I am writing this post really late at night, so I'm apologising in advance for all words & phrases that make no sense... also for any: your, you're, there, their and they're blunders I may make tonight.

Today's mani was created following this handy tutorial written by Marta of Chit Chat Nails for how to construct your own skittlette style nail art.
I used Essie Lady Like as my creme shade, Zoya Neely with white striping polish, and OPI Can't Let Go as the glitter/texture shade by the tutorial out-line.

I liked the end result a lot, I just wish I had a bit more nail length though. I feel like my corners have been breaking a lot.

Well I'm off to bed! Have a great day everyone!

Thanks for stopping by!

Essie Bikini So Teeny

Hi guys!

Please read yesterdays post first, if you haven't yet. :)

For today's nails I used Essie Bikini So Teeny...
So you know what that means right?!?! Yep, ANOTHER boy for me. For those who missed yesterdays post, I promised to reveal my expected babies gender by choice of manicure colour on todays post.

As some of you may know by reading my blog in the past, I already have 2 adorable boys named Matthew & Isaac. While I am a bit sad I won't be buying any bows & dresses, I am extremely happy to be welcoming another young brother for my boys to beat up play with.  My due date is right around Christmas too... Needless to say I'll have my hands very full in the next few years.

Have a great day everyone!

Pink or Blue, Blue or Pink?

Hey guys,

I found out the gender of my baby on Monday, and I'm keeping it a secret for one more day! I have one last family member to tell before I let the world know. Trust me though, its hard to keep quiet!

Here's a little teaser:
Some quick skittles using OPI Pink Friday & Essie Bikini So Teeny.

I'll use ONE of these shades in my next post, which I'll let everyone know what I'm probably going to have-according to my ultrasound .

Any final predictions? boy or girl?

Thanks for visiting! Have a great day,

Karen

A Copy-Cat Mani: The Nailasurus Blue with White Stamping

Hello!

I hope you all had a great weekend! I took my 2 boys to my oldest son, Matthew, soccer tournament. Then from there to meet Morgan the Worlds Tallest Female Dog... OMG she was so BIG!! My youngest son, Isaac, who's not even 2 yet, just about died of pure happiness (that's Isaac in the FB picture, Matts soccer uniform... and my odd dismembered hand on the upper right). Of all days to not have my camera with me, it was of course that day! Luckly for me Morgans owner took a few. As of Sunday night Isaac was still talking about the "doggie"... which if you ever have the pleasure of meeting Morgan, you'll see the word doggie as a vast under statement.

Back to the nails, I saw this stunningly beautiful stamping combo by The Nailasaurus, and realized I HAD everything she used to create the mani. So I re-created the look late Saturday night.
I used Essie Bikini So Teeny, Finger Paints Paper Mache, and Nailz Craze NC03. I am embarrassed to tell everyone this is my first time using this plate (and I didn't "just" purchase it either). To be honest, the main reason I postponed using such a beautiful image/plate is image size. I don't like the extra clean up required for XL plates, plus on some images placement can be tricky (not the case in this instance). Oh the joys of having nubs! The actual plate is perfect, the designs are nicely etched, and transfer well.

Have you ever copy-cat-ed someone manis? I do (with credit of course!), I draw a lot of inspiration for other bloggers/instagrammers, and even if I don't out-right copy, I still pick pieces of their work to build on as well.

Thank you so much for reading!

Have a great week,

Karen

For Audrey Stamped & Mattified

Hey guys!

Wednesday! Yeeaaaaa! LOL....

This mani is super simple (I feel like ALL my looks have been simple lately...seesh!) but it was what I wore over the long weekend. I had 2 BBQs to attend, and at one of them I finally got to meet my friends brand new baby girl! (she was super adorable in-case you're wondering).

Back to the nails, these were what I was rockin:

China Glaze For Audrey, my trusty fall back shade, I'm never NOT in the mood to wear FA. I Stamped with MASH Plate 40 using Essie No Place like Home and matted the whole look with Essie Matte About You.

I don't think this mani is going to knock anyones boots off with originality, but I still loved it :)

Happy Wedneseday everyone!

Karen xoxo

KKCenterHK Review: 2.5mm Circle Glitter -Brown

Hello!

My post today is loooonng  over due, for a while I wasn't really up for painting my nails, and during that small time frame, my product from KKcenterHK came in, and sat collecting dust for about a month. I'm ready to set that straight, and present my review on 2.5mm Circle Glitter:

I started with a base of Cult Nails Manipulative & Zoya Jacqueline and followed with a coat of Essie Matte About You, I have Claires Silver Glitter on my pinkie.
When the layers were dry, I used my dotting tool to add a dot of clear np at the base of my nail above cuticle. Using the same dotting tool, I then picked up a glitter and placed on the still wet dot.

I DID NOT top coat this mani for multiple reasons: one I had already painted the matte top coat, and two I read reports that these glitters can bleed. To be honest I was feeling a bit lazy and didn't want to take a chance. However I recommend you read this review by Nails Like Lace, she tests the round glitters with a ton of top coats.
My final thoughts on these is that they are a good shape (for a while round glitter was (is?) all the the rage with indie polish makers), decent price, and you get A LOT in the little container it comes in. It seems all the round glitter reviews for KKCHK say they bleed, so avoid top coat with these. I should point out I have the orange and black hex glitters from them as well and have experienced no bleeding. You can see my reviews & pictures for the orange and black.

You can get 10% off your purchase with the code nailcall

Thanks for reading today! Have a great Monday/long weekend Monday if you're Canadian.

Bye!!

Happy (Pink) Friday

Hey everyone,

I wore OPI Pink Friday for the majority of this week just as it is. Its a really fun, light coloured, but still bright pink. I originally slapped it on with the intention of doing some stamping (leopard print..again :D) but I ended up feeling really happy how it was, and left it.

This was 3 coats of Pink Friday, I had some streaking issues and needed the 3rd coat to even it out. I'm not sure if its getting chalkier with age, or I have a bad memory, but I thought this np shade was a easy 2 coater. Oh well! Next time I'll add thinner, hopefully that'll help!

Sorry today's post was a little plain, although stamping/nail art is on my mind, lately I've been lacking the energy to follow though.

Have a great Friday everyone, thanks for stopping by :)

Karen
